Suspect fibroids? Periods going from heavy to light?
Hi I’ve had the copper IUD for four years now and in the beginning my periods became heavier and longer up until a peak of last year my periods were lasting 10 days with some spotting in between. Dr couldn't find anything wrong and I chalked it up to an annoying side effect of the IUD.
Recently in the past few months my periods have become lighter and only lasting 4 to 5 days - has anyone experienced this periods going from heavy to light with fibroids?
I’ve had random abdominal pains/ pressure and occasional sharp pains for like 6 months. The pains have been all over my abdomen and sometimes it’s tender to the touch. I also have a swollen belly. I’ve always been prone to bloating but this is more severe.
I also had a pelvic ultrasound around a year and a half ago because I was having some pains and they didn’t say anything about fibroids - it was in the emergency department so I’m unsure if they would just not comment if they only saw small fibroids since it’s not an emergency. Is it possible for fibroids to develop over a short period of time?
