Valve freezing seeking suggestions
My dad recently had a j tube installed do to esophageal cancer. He got pneumonia twice from aspirations in the hospital during other tests, and had been having problems with the on off valve getting stuck and blocking everything from the medication.
He switched to diluting the medication and finished the course of antibiotics. This morning after successful feeding all night the new valve froze between putting in water.
This is the second time we are at the emergency room for a valve replacement in a week. He can’t wait a longer period for an appointment due to the diabetes. Is there anything he can do to stop having the valve break (as in get stuck enough they will no longer open and close and the arms on the valve start bending and breaking off.)
Hospital would not give him spares.
