I just bought a Bravia 8 which has both the digital audio and the eARC/ARC ports. My really old Yamaha RX-V867 receiver only has the ARC port (and the digital).

Should I buy an eARC audio adapter and if so, will it work? I'll probably buy new HDMI high speed cables too.

I really can’t afford a receiver at this time, unless someone can suggest a decent used/budget one with eARC; Sony or otherwise.
