I was scrolling randomly on my IG reels and came upon this creator’s post about her visit to Coron and I commented, “an EA woman calling a SEA man monkey, of course” and she blocked me. Lol
Call me too woke but I live outside of the Philippines and it’s always these monolid uglies with white partners (who are either balding and are equally unattractive anyway) with the most condescending and backhanded things to say about us. Not to bring up my own issues but as a Filipino who’s had a lot of interactions with EA women here, I do notice that they think we’re beneath them.
It’s so insidious because her post was about going to Palawan and you see a lot of people in her comments unaware of what she just said?
And I feel like one of the reasons people in the Philippines get taken advantage of is because we don’t notice the micro aggression and the backhanded comments.
So please be mindful of the creators you follow and make sure these people genuinely like your people.
