Went to my local chess club today - schooled by a 1700. Great group of guys though

Have social anxiety and really struggle with things like this but it was great.

I'm currently sitting at around 1300, a 1700 put me in a blender. He just seemed to control every square and didn't get destroyed but at the same time I never felt like I had a chance.

Any tips would be great, I will keep going but need to up my game. Thank you so much!

P.s. started chess around 2 years ago, only really learn from the likes of youtube videos (gotham) etc - feel like it can't take me any further
