Bare naked
Here is a pic showing that the layout is in two pieces. You can see the dowl holes for all the buildings and bridges. I made it so it could be easily moved.
Close up of island
Because trees seem to get caught on clothing. I put stumps close to the track and outside of the track.
Early view of the harber
I like how the dock and the waterfall turned out.
A diff view of the shingle mill
A couple things i like in this pic. The waterfall in the bottom left corner. You can see that the mill sits over the water. The slip jack came out nice with the logs going in the mill. My fav are the logs in the millpond. The bridge in upper right corner is a model of the covered bridge in colfax wa.
A little bridge
The bridge this was made after is outside orofino idaho.
Desert
A bit of desert scenery i maid for a magazine article.
A look at my buildings
Solid balsa. Roofing js black sandpaper, siding is made for dollhouse
A experiment i tried.
Street trackage seemed like a great idea until i made some. I didnt like it. So it came out.
A picture of the bay
The water is just a layer of plywood that i dyed and stained. But for the creek i used 1/64 plywood. The weeds are from a push broom i had.
Milw road gp9
Here are some pics of the geep nine. The wheels came from whittle shortline. I made the rest myself. I used old track for the wood except the air tanks on the long hood. Those are toothpics. I went with the milwaukee road paint so i could hide the seem that ran down the middle of the long and short hood
Another layout pic.
A diff view of the bay. I really liked the way the logs in the mill pond turned out.
Another pic of my layout.
The milwaukee gp9 just got the signal to proceed .
Here is an older pic of my wood railroad.
I liked how the water turned out. The trestle was not strong enough for my boys. It was upgraded to a steel structure after many times being struck by matchbox cars
An old build but might be new to some of you
