The State of Cavan Football.
In the late 00's early 10s Cavan produced 4 under 21 Ulster winning teams in a row. Losing an All Ireland Semi Final to Dublin by a point. Members of that Dublin team who Cavan made look very ordinary went on to become all time greats.
Shortly after this fantastic run the county board appointed a new games development manager to take things to the next level. The end result is what we are seeing on the pitch today. His dismantling of the underage structure to favour his clubs development has led to a lack of quality coming through to support the lads who dominated Ulster at underage level.
The same man then went Westmeath as senior manager last year, got them relagated, while keeping his job as games development manager. He has also set up CavStream, the streaming platform for our club championship. So that's 3 paycheques from the county board.
In his time as games development manager. Up until he took over, we had quality coaches come in and take the development squads sessions,
now its Dads of players on the squad. -Club coaches who are fairly happy developing players at their own clubs.
When you get called for trials, if unsuccessful you find out by not getting a text. No work ons or feedback given.

A player asked for a couple of weeks lighter work due to playing a full soccer season, inter county season , club season and Sigerson without a break. Was told to fuck off.
Another player said he couldn't make a team bonding weekend due to a club finial. Was told 'Its only a division 3 final", and then told to fuck off.
The manager had an argument at a club game some years ago. As a result the son of the person who he had the arguement with was dropped.
Funny enough two of three dropped players are from the same club & there has been bad blood with this club and his own club for years.
The county boards role in this cannot be overlooked. They have given this lad the keys to Brefini Park, have contacted local media and requested no negative coverage of the senior team amd the manager refuses to sit with local media and when he does is threatening.
Clubs are afraid to speak up as it will mean, no club championship games in Brefini, no hosting club championship games, and no players on development squads.
