And of course, just as you can get combinations of genres like Fantasy Romance or Historical Thrillers, you can get books that fit into more than one subgenre of Science Fiction. Ex: I put Cinder under Mecha because Cinder is a cyborg, but I could have also put it under Biopunk because the wolves are genetically engineered.

What's your favorite subgenre?

There are a bunch of sequels in the 2026 list. I'm particularly interested to hear from anyone that has read the titles that WEREN'T part of a series. Have you read these? What did you think?
