ORB Strategy (Day 9)

ORB Strategy (Day 9)

Paper trading MNQ at NY Open today.

Using the 15 min timeframe, I marked out the first 15 min range of Ny Open 11:30 - 11:45 (9:30 - 9:45 NY).

Then, using the 5 min timeframe, I identified a candle closing above the range to a respectable extent, indicating that; in this instance price wanted to increase.

Using the 1 min I was able to execute a long trade, with my SL just below a high timeframe FVG, and my TP just above the high.

Was eventually stopped out... no news either.

TRADERS, what mistakes did I make? HOW can I improve my ORB strategy?

ORB Strategy (Day 8)

ORB strategy day 8. Paper trading on MNQ at NY open as per usual.

After reading previous session highs and lows, I marked out the 15 min candle at NY open 11:30 - 11:45 (NY 9:30 - 9:45).

After price broke to the upside, I utilised the lower timeframes to analyse price movement carefully, helping me execute at an ideal price.

I set my SL with the assistance of ATR and key levels, with my TP set at a key level too.

What do YOU think about THIS trade?...

ORB Strategy (Day 7)

Paper trading on MNQ at NY Open using the ORB strategy.

After identifying previous session highs and lows, as well as the 15 min range, I followed price using the 5 min.

After a break to the downside, I waited for a respectable retest, followed by a bullish reversal on the 1 min.

I set my TP at the previous low, and my SL at a near key level, with assistance of the ATR indicator.

Evidentially, I did end up loosing the trade. Not sure if this was because of news 1/1.2 hours before (PPI), because I was unlucky, or simply a skill issue.

ORB TRADERS or just traders in general... please help. How can I improve my ORB Strategy?

ORB Strategy (Day 6)

Paper trading MNQ on TradingView.

I traded using the ORB Strategy, waiting for the 11:30 (9:30 New York) 15 min candle to close, so I could then mark out my range for 'break and retests.'

Set a long today after price swept previous London and Asia lows. I set my TP at the top of the range, and my stop at the bottom of the liquidity sweep, ignoring the retest strategy.

After I executed my trade, price continued to move up, passing equilibrium, leading it to reverse, creating a swing low and obviously hitting my SL.

How can I improve my strategy??

Was this a skill issue or just bad luck?

ORB Strategy (Day 5)

ORB strategy day 5.

I executed a set order on MNQ NY open.

After marking the range of the 11:30 (NY 9:30) 15 min cable, I waited for a break and retest, at which I would place my order.

Set my TP at a previous order block, with my stop at the top of the range.

Price ended up sweeping liquidity from the previous session (London) lows, then reversed upwards.

How IMPORTANT are previous session HIGHS AND LOWS?

Let me know...

Traded NY Open today on MNQ.

Really nothing special... a 1:1 ratio with my TP just above previous London highs, and my stop near the range low (notice I didn't set my stop at the bottom of the range cause I wanted at least a 1:1).

I'm here to record my progress, provide assistance to others, and receive helpful information from other traders.

To add, hanks to the comments I received on day 3.

I was able to further revise my strategy, which is obviously beneficial.

ORB on NY Open today.

Used the 15 min timeframe to mark out the first 15 mins of NY Open, followed by watching for a candle close past the range (either above or below).

After a closure below the range, I waited for a fast retracement into range, where I executed my short.

I set my TP at a London OB.

Price pushed down, with the wick merely skimming the OB before reversing to the upside.

Good idea, poor execution?

ADVANCED ORB TRADERS (ESPECIALLY NY OPEN) assistance...

Paper Trading on MNQ with the break and retest strategy today. I always take my trades after NY Open.

I started by marking out the range of the first 15 mins of NY Open, followed by waiting for a respectable break out of range, then a quick and direct retest into range.

As soon as price quickly shot up into the range, I executed my short, consisting of a 1:5 R:R, and my TP set at a previous 15 min FVG.

Despite there being no news, price continued to follow the daily bias, and made an all-time high; hitting my stop.

How can I strengthen my ORB strategy?

Should I consider confluences such as Daily Bias?

Traders, please let me know in the comments...
