New specialty coffee shop opened on W 23rd (142, between 6th & 7th), hi neighbors
Hi all, long-time lurker, first time posting. We opened a small coffee shop called Monoblend at 142 W 23rd (between 6th and 7th) literally three days ago, and figured the neighborhood sub was a better place to say hello than to run ads.
Quick honest pitch for why it might be worth a walk over. The beans aren't off a distributor list. We bring them in ourselves, straight from private family farms in Colombia, so a few of our single-origins genuinely aren't pourable anywhere else in the city. We also went a little overboard on the gear, the espresso setup especially, and the kitchen is the part I'm quietly proudest of. It's not an afterthought croissant case, the food actually holds its own.
Window seat's open if you want it
We're three days in, so we're still finding our rhythm. If you come by, tell us what's working and what isn't. We'd honestly rather earn a few regulars from the block than chase tourists wandering off the High Line.
Syrniki. No good English word for them, come let us explain in person
If you want to try it, code Neighbor gets you 5% off for the next 7 days. Short window mostly so it doesn't get passed around the whole internet. But the discount is the small thing. We're neighbors now, and we're going to be on this block a long time, so for the locals we're cooking up something better a little down the road. More on that once we've found our feet. Either way, come say hi.
