Should we take out life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection on a new mortgage?
Hi all,
My partner and I are buying our first home and have been recommended:
- Life insurance
- Critical illness cover
- Income protection
We're trying to decide whether these are genuinely worth having, or whether most people only take some of them.
For those who've already bought a home:
- Which of these did you take out?
- Which would you consider essential?
- Did your employer benefits (e.g. sick pay or death-in-service) affect your decision?
- Looking back, would you make the same choice again?
Would be great to hear what others did and why.
Thanks!
