Hi juniors , I a pass out of this college
I have made a RTI to institute asking these questions
Want a structured and truthful replies to questions in RTI
Subject: Placement Statistics 2026 on the IIIT Nagpur website
Reference: Table Placement data 2022 - 2026 on the Placement Statistics - 2026 page (Total 561, Eligible 336, Offered and Accepted 275, Placed 81.84%, 255 companies visited). Please provide as held in records:
- Copy of the placement policy or circular for the 2022-2026 batch defining placement eligibility, including CGPA cutoff, backlog, debarment and opt-out rules.
- Out of 561 students, the number excluded from the eligible count under each reason: not registered or opted out, higher studies, CGPA or backlog, debarred, entrepreneurship, others.
- Whether the 275 includes off-campus offers. If yes, the number held by students counted as eligible and by students counted as not eligible.
- Whether 275 is unique students or number of offers. Provide total offers made and the number of students with more than one offer.
- List of the 255 companies, stating for each: mode of hiring (on-campus, pool campus drive, mass or off-campus drive, internship or PPO), branches allowed, number of offers made and CTC. Also number of companies with zero offers.
- Anonymised list of the CTC of every accepted offer used to compute the average 15.03 LPA and median 14 LPA, with branch and domestic or international, without names or roll numbers.
- Record defining CTC for these statistics: whether it includes joining bonus, ESOPs, relocation, variable or retention pay, and the conversion rate used for foreign currency offers.
- Regarding the basis of the placement percentage of 81.84%:
(a) Copy of the file noting or record stating the reason for calculating placement percentage on eligible students and not on total students.
(b) The table shows eligible students as CSE 266 and ECE 103, which add up to 369, but the total is shown as 336 with a hash mark. State the correct eligible count, which number (336, 369 or 561) was used as the base for 81.84%, and provide the record explaining the hash mark.
(c) Copy of any rule, circular or guideline of the Ministry of Education, NIRF or the Board of Governors under which placement percentage is calculated on eligible students. If no such rule exists, please state so in writing.
(d) Copy of any norm or guideline held by the institute, followed by IITs and other Institutes of National Importance, on whether placement percentage is calculated on total or eligible students.
(e) Copy of the Graduation Outcome placement data submitted to NIRF for this batch, stating whether it used total graduating or eligible students. - For the highest packages of 50 LPA (CSE) and 80 LPA (ECE): company, role, location and CTC breakup, without student identity.
- For the 5 start-ups: whether they are counted within 275, and the criteria to treat a start-up as placed.
Note: NIRF Graduation Outcomes counts placements against graduating students, not only eligible students, hence point 8.
Please provide the information in electronic form through the RTI online portal only.
