England - Can a joint tenant prevent a specific guest from entering the property?
I am a joint tenant in a private rental in England (Kirklees). We moved in just over a month ago.
My housemate wants to invite someone to the property, but I feel unsafe with this individual attending the home and do not want them to enter the property.
As joint tenants, I understand neither tenant can usually unilaterally ban guests.
Is there any legal mechanism that would allow one joint tenant to prevent a specific person from entering the property due to safety concerns, or is an agreement between tenants/landlord the only option?
