Car service in Rome
For those searching this sub in the future, if you decide to book a car and not take the train, strongly recommend working with your lodging and NOT booking.com for car service from the airport.
Sadly I booked with booking.com and it was not a private car as advertised. They outsource to a service in the airport that does nothing more than call a taxi for you. So it takes longer and costs more. I paid 80 Euro for the “service” vs the flat fee of 55. It was NOT a better experience than just standing in the taxi line.
Lesson learned. 😞
