Bike Alarm !
I’m planning to use my COROS DURA mainly for BRMs and long rides, and I’ve been testing the Bike Alarm behavior to manage café/food/nap stops.
Here’s what I’ve observed:
- If I enable Bike Alarm with no workout running, the “On Guard / Bike Alarm” screen stays on for roughly 2 minutes and then the display and backlight turn off, while the alarm remains armed.
- If I pause an active ride and then enable Bike Alarm, the “On Guard” screen never turns off. The display and backlight stay on indefinitely while the activity is paused and the alarm is armed.
For BRMs with many long stops, I’d like to:
• Keep the activity paused (not ended).
• Have Bike Alarm armed for basic theft deterrence.
• Have the screen/backlight turn off quickly (e.g. after 2-3 mins), exactly like in the “no workout running” case, to save battery and avoid drawing attention.
Could someone could please confirm whether this “screen never turns off when ride is paused + Bike Alarm on” behavior is intended or a bug.
If not, can COROS Consider updating the firmware so that, when Bike Alarm is enabled with a paused activity, the alarm screen follows the same display timeout as when no workout is running (screen off after a short idle period but alarm still active).
Or Ideally, allow a configurable screen timeout for Bike Alarm.
This would make DURA much more practical for long BRMs with multiple controls and restaurant stops, where I’m close to the bike but want both security and battery savings.
