Cleaning out Hampers
I'm trying to find information on who is supposed to clean out hampers(pumpkins, carts, canvas carts...etc.) and the only information I can find is from Handbook PO-502 regarding mail transport equipment.
I'm under the assumption that carriers should maintain the hampers after they finish loading their vehicles. This would include getting water out of them(if paper towels are provided) though there is really nothing in the m41 that says its necessary for them to do so. I am also not aware of anything saying the clerks are in charge of this task either other than the fact that it says to remove all debris from the hampers before stacking them. I know there is nothing that says it's the custodians job to clean them out as it says we aren't even supposed to clean under them or move them.
Just wondering who this really falls on to do?
