How to get a consistent, stable live stream on OBS

Beginner at streaming here. Our video stream quality is not great and we’re in the middle of overall setup upgrade. But I feel the most important thing is to get a stable internet so we can upload at safely higher bitrates.

Been ready that a solution is to get some bonding network solutions but I need something that is tried and tested and would solve this issue, on OBS specifically. Happy to hear any suggestions. Thanks in advance

Need help with setup update

Hi everyone,

I’m thinking of building the below live streaming setup. We receive around 120-200 people in a house of worship. Current streaming we use Osmo Pocket 3 and we use an iphone to record vertical and then we do reels and tiktoks. We want to upgrade our setup to do high quality live streaming and also reduce clutter in the venue by the multiple tripods. The area is around 60 sqms and many people attend so minimizing clutter is important. I want to build a separate control room. Here is my envisioned setup. Please challenge it/suggest ideas

  1. Apple Mac Mini

This is the workflow:

  1. The close up camera is what I want to record in ISO. I’ll route the specific feed to a certain SDI output to the hyperdeck
  2. Switcher and Hyperdeck will be connected to the mac mini
  3. Switcher will appear as webcam on OBS. It’ll have audio mix coming from the switcher and ready to stream with all the lower thirds

What this setup achieves:

Significant upgrade in broadcast quality from Osmo Pocket 3. Eliminate current clutter in the venue by removing osmo camera tripod, iphone tripod for recording

Record the close up camera feed in 4K and downscaling will improve quality vs. 1080p shooting from the get go

Tell me what you think. Thanks in advance
