Do dog owners know they don't have to live in misery?
Damn, a post about dog ownership sucking blew up on Reddit. Some of the nutters, with the dog fatigue trend happening, are finally starting to be honest with themselves. I read through it today, and it's like these people are being held hostage. Do they know they aren't actually obligated to house an animal that's deteriorating their lives?
And people commenting about the $10k+ vet bills for their senior dogs. They do know they don't *have* to pay to keep their elderly dog alive that will eventually just deteriorate more and suffer more, thus creating more bills and probably will die after a year or two after the surgeries? Not only that, the dog will just have a low quality of life?
They can't even make plans without shelling out hundreds on dog boarding. They can't be left alone for a second in their own home.
Do they not realize these are animals and not actual humans and they are not obligated to keep them around? Do they truly feel "love" for these things that are doing nothing but making their lives misery? It's such a cult, honestly.
