So I had to find a new pharmacy who would dispense my prescription of oxycodone. Everybody on reddit said to stay away from Walmart but guess what? They were the only ones who filled it for me. Before Walmart, I contacted 5 different pharmacies who wouldn’t accept me. At first, my prescription was sent to another Walmart and they were so kind to inform me they didn’t have it in stock and they actually called other Walmarts to see who had it and transferred it. It was honestly the best customer service I have ever experienced when it comes to narcotics and pharmacies. The pharmacist did call me to ask why I am prescribed it and once I told him my conditions, he was totally fine dispensing it. I read somewhere that Walmart pharmacies have to ask that which I am 100% ok with. So ya, Walmart is my new pharmacy. I had horror stories from so many people on reddit to stay away from them but I had a completely different experience.

So a few weeks ago, I made a post that a grocery chain pharmacy, who I have been going to for over 2 years for my medication, told my Dr that they will no longer be filling any of her prescriptions. I was told by a lot of people on here that small, mom and pop pharmacies are the way to go. My dr even said that they are more lenient.

Not one small pharmacy that I contacted accepts new chronic pain patients! This caught me off guard because I was told other wise by a lot of people. The only pharmacy that said yes to me is Walmart. My prescription hasn’t been sent there yet so I haven’t experienced yet if I will have problems with them, but I’m shocked that all the pharmacies I contacted said no. It’s not even my fault I had to switch pharmacies…they just won’t take my Dr’s prescriptions.

Not only that, but my pain management dr pissed me off. I took my annual urine exam a few weeks ago. When I asked for my prescription yesterday, the receptionist told me no medication will be dispensed until I take a urine test. I explained to her that I already took it and she said no one did any notes. The person I gave my test to said that she remembers me taking it but no notes where completed so I have to take another one. I was pissed because I took it that day for a reason…because I couldn’t come in any other days. Eventually they said they will call my prescription in because of the mix up but when i’m in again, I have to take another urine test. I’m just so pissed off about the urine test and the pharmacy situation…makes me just want to be done with them and not get my meds at all because of the incompetence.
