The lack of organic farms in Guwahati
Guwahati being a fast growing tier 2 city and the primary urban hub of entire NE, still lacks proper options for organic fruits and vegetables. Like there is not a single website or shop that sells certified/non-certified organic fruits and veggies. The fruit markets are infested with Carbide ripened and growth hormone injected fruits. And there are many banned deadly pesticides which are still being used in Assam. In other major cities of India and even small towns, you can find certified organic produce. Quick commerce apps like Blinkit, Instamart,BB, Flipkart minutes etc have a seperate “Trusted organic” section for fruits and vegetables in almost every city it operates but in Guwahati that section is empty. Are we seriously so behind or people themselves don’t care about it ??
