Which whirl ratio for spinning Merino?
I am starting my first sweater soon. It will be a Combospin with mainly merino but also a bit of Corriedale, BFL and Polwarth. The Merino has a very low staple length (5cm; 2 inches). I am used to a ratio of 10:1 with one treadle per draft. I suppose I would have to be a lot faster with the merino.
How do you spin your merino? Ratio, treadle per draft…
