Considering a temporary move to Guwahati for a couple of years, I have questions about legal practice and weather.

Hi everyone,
I may have to shift to Guwahati temporarily for a couple of years due to personal/professional reasons. I’m an advocate and primarily speak Hindi and English.
I wanted to ask:
As a Hindi and English-speaking advocate, would I face difficulties practicing law or working in legal settings in Guwahati because of language? Is Assamese essential for day-to-day court work or client interactions?

How is the legal environment overall for advocates coming from outside Assam?

What is the weather like throughout the year? I’m especially sensitive to heat and humidity, so I’d like to know how intense summers and monsoons feel.

How is the overall quality of life? Regarding safety, adjustment, culture, etc., for someone relocating temporarily?

Would appreciate honest experiences, especially from lawyers or people who’ve moved there from other states.

Thank you!

Will be staying in Mhow (Indore) for around 3–4 months soon. Since I’ll have enough time to explore properly, I wanted recommendations from locals and frequent visitors.

What are the must-visit places around Mhow and Indore? Looking for:

Good cafés and chill hangout spots

Best food places/street food

Weekend trips nearby

Scenic/nature spots

Hidden gems that tourists usually miss
