Solo Interrail trip for ~14 days — hostel recommendations + how do you actually make friends while traveling alone?
Hey everyone,
I’m planning my first solo Interrail trip this summer and wanted to ask for some advice/recommendations.
Right now the plan is to start from Stockholm and travel through
Berlin
Prague
Budapest
maybe Vienna
I’ll probably be traveling for around 14 more or less depending on how tired I get and how much I enjoy moving around constantly.
I’m mainly looking for:
Good/social hostel recommendations in those cities
Hostels that are easy to meet people in (not just party hostels necessarily)
Tips on how people actually make friends while solo traveling
I’m pretty social once I get comfortable, but I’ve never traveled alone before, so I’m curious how people naturally meet others. Do people mostly connect through hostel events, pub crawls, common rooms, day trips, etc.?
Also open to any general solo travel or Interrail tips you wish you knew before your first trip.
