editorial board member - is it worth it?
I received an invitation to join the editorial board of a medical journal published by SpingerNature. I am not sure if this is a good idea for me.
I am an assistant professor and clinical doctor working in hospital setting. I am not involved in fundamental research, however I am aiming to publish 1-2 papers per year based on clinical research and coauthor another 2 - 3 papers with my colleagues. I am reviewing manuscripts for some years, generally aiming for 2 a month as more would be too time consuming. Would becoming an editorial board member be a good idea? or should I just keep my workload as before?
