Z50ii with 100-400 for wildlife?
I currently have a Z5ii, 100-400mm lens (also a 70-200 2.8), and a 1.4x TC.
I had been thinking about getting the 180-600 for wildlife, but I've heard mixed report on the lens, which is $2100 on sale and rarely available for much less used. I've been disappointed with other non S-line lenses after using S-line exclusively, so I hesitate to drop two grand on this lens, plus I'm not a large or strong person, and the size and weight are a concern.
Instead of getting a new lens, I'm now thinking about getting a Z50ii (~1k new) to take advantage of its crop-sensor reach and using it with my 100-400 and with the 1.4x TC when needed.
Thoughts on this combo? I know I'm losing IBIS and some low light capabilities compared with my Z5ii.
