Help solve a music mystery! Shazam, Google and YouTube all failed...
Four nights ago, around 11:30 PM, we heard an incredible song playing at MakaMaka restaurant in Barcelona, Spain.
The mobile signal was bad, so we recorded a sample of the song.
This is the recording: https://vocaroo.com/1aR5NPpc2cMn
We immediately tried to identify it, but... nothing.
Here's what we've already tried:
- Shazam
- Google (using multiple lyric combinations)
- YouTube / Content ID
No matches anywhere, not even for the very distinct riff at 1:00 (last 18 seconds of the recording)
The song sounds like professional studio recording with a male vocalist. The style is somewhere between fantasy folk, Celtic folk, folk rock, and light folk metal. The last 30 seconds of the recording showcase the band's sound particularly well.
Some lyrics I could decipher (not sure they're 100% correct though):
... infinite stroll
in disenchanted lands
...with a wink in his eyes
and he squeezed every heart
with a laugh and a...
...
the Trickster the young man...
...
As he walked through the forest
the stars shined so bright
His heart filled with pride
and thrill of the fight
And somewhere behind him
the shadows...
he could not resist
... in the ground
shadows at tower
A big figure loomed
with terrible power
A mask of a giant
with skull on his face
The infinite stroll
now lost in the chase
So hid behind the ... of
courage and cheer
Was sometimes the...
... just filled with fear
In forest enchanted
where all legends dwell...
The phrase "The Infinite Stroll" was repeated at least two or three times, so we originally assumed it was the song title. Surprisingly, searching for that phrase leads nowhere.
The song tells what seems to be a coherent fantasy story about The Trickster, a journey through an enchanted forest, courage, fear, and a giant-like figure wearing a skull mask.
At this point we're wondering if it's:
- a very obscure indie band,
- an unreleased song,
- production/library music,
- or perhaps even an AI-generated track.
Does anyone recognize:
- the band,
- the singer's voice,
- the song,
- or even just the style?
Any ideas are welcome, even if you're not completely sure. We've hit a dead end, and this has turned into a surprisingly fun mystery to solve.
Thanks in advance!
