How long does actually it take to learn the basics

Hi, I've been trying to learn Spanish for a little over a month now but I have been feeling very discouraged lately. I struggle to understand verbs, sentence structure, when to use certain words (example, when to use esta/este over es), and past/present/future tenses. How long does it really take to have this stuff memorized or understood? Sorry if this post does not make a lot of sense

No idea where to start!

I really want to learn Spanish in order to be able to better communicate with people online. I'm not so interested in learning how to speak the language, but I at least want to try to learn the basics of writing it! The problem is, I have no idea where to start. I'm not sure what apps/websites will be useful for this, because most of what I find is either useless or focused on speaking. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions!

Intense fear of caterpillars is making my summer a nightmare and I don’t know what to do

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been absolutely terrified of caterpillars. No other bugs freak me out like they do! I don’t even mind butterflies or moths.
Even the sight of a caterpillar causes me to go into a panicked state.

I live in central Michigan and every summer the tent worms (I don’t know the actual name for the caterpillar/moth) are absolutely terrible. They’re everywhere! They’ve gotten better over the years, but I’m terrified to even step outside the house. My biggest fear is having one drop from a tree onto my head. I’ve cried just thinking about it! I’m always told I’m being dramatic and nobody except my mom takes this phobia seriously…

I hate feeling this way. I don’t hate caterpillars themselves, I know they’re just little bugs who don’t mean to scare me so, but I can’t help it. I never kill them, because they’re not bothering me directly, but I can’t be in any area with one.

I really want to find a way to at least not be so scared of these things, at least be able to walk down the street without freaking out at the sight of them on the pavement. I miss going outside and going for walks. If anyone has any tips, please let me know!!!! Thank you!
