How much money has everyone put into the hobby? When is it considered too much/an addiction?

Hello! So I mainly made this post just cause I was curious what everyone else kinda had but also because I was planning out what I hoped to get in the future and from my plans it's a lot. Like a total of 15k-20k in stuff (headphones, iems, DACs, amps, etc) albeit over multiple years as I just really love and actually use heaps of headphones (I typically swap once every day or 3). But from what I can see that is a really big price and reading how many headphones I'm considering it does sound ridiculous but I also like the decoration/aesthetic of them as well which is another huge reason for getting them all.

Just was curious what everyone's perspective on all this was although I know from a semi-related thread talking about how many headphones was too many, many did mention that it's fine as long as it makes you happy and you're obviously not spending outside your means (I wouldn't be. This is just a large chunk of my wants money, savings and needs are still well covered).

But that's pretty much the crux of it and I was curious to hear what everyone else's perspectives were. And thanks for reading if you took the time!

Also only thing I'd mention is that when I say 15-20k in gear that is all used and spans multiple cans, dacs, and amps from raal speaker hybrid ones to stax electrostat to other planars as well as all different types of outputs like tube, hybrid tube solid state, and solid state both for planar/dd and electrostat. If I bought new it'd be roughly 40k worth of stuff (but to me that seems like just a monumental waste unless it's a custom that if you buy used you lose the ability to customise it how you like.

[WTS][WTT][USA-FL][H] Hifiman Arya Stealth (V3) w/ Hart Audio Cable, Focal Elegia, AceZone A-Spire [W] PayPal, Aune Sr7000, HD 490 Pro

Helloooo!

I am selling off lots of my old headphones that I'm not using much anymore due to others and looking to possibly trade them for the Aune sr 7000 and/or hd 490 pro. The following is what I've got:

Hifiman Arya Stealth (V3) w/ Hart Audio Cable - selling because of redundancy as I have the caldera open and with eq they are extremely similar to where I'd just rather use the caldera if I ever were to consider the Arya. Probably 10-20 hours time used by me and maybe more from previous owners. Selling for $420, comes with all original packaging.

Focal Elegia - just never really liked them ever... Just didn't work for me even with eq along with more redundancy. They are well worn as the headband seems a little dirty. I cleaned them as best I could. The cable is also frayed a little but is still fully functional. If anything I'd recommend getting a new cable cause focal's cables just suck for the most part. Selling for $150 doesn't come with case or packaging. SOLD!

AceZone A-spire - selling for $115. I just never used them as I had maybe 1 hour total time with them before I got tonnes of other audiophile things. Haven't touched them since but they work great especially for noise isolation. Microphone is average, not terrible but not great. Comes with all original packaging.

For trades I'd value the Aune sr7000 at roughly $300 from recent sales (I can get links if needed) and the hd 490 pro at $250-300. If you have either and want to trade just add the difference between the two to be paid off. I.e you want the Arya and have the sr7000 you'd send $420 and I'd send the $300 meaning you paid an extra $120 or vice versa you want the Elegia, I send $300, you send $150.

Thanks for checking out my post regardless! And I'm happy to sell separately without trading as well just after I'm likely gonna hunt down those two anyways so might as well try and cut out steps if I can. Can discuss prices as well if you'd like.
