Need Help Tracking Gym Workouts With a Smartwatch

Recently, I started going to the gym 3 times a week. At the same time, I joined 2 groups on the Gym Rats app with some friends.

I wanted to log my gym sessions on Gym Rats, but I don't have the confidence to be the kind of person who takes mirror selfies at the gym. So, thinking about that and wanting a way to track my workouts, I bought a smartwatch hoping I could use it to record my exercises (I don’t know, I thought it could track things like date, calories, heart rate, workout duration, and that kind of stuff).

The problem is that I know basically nothing about this kind of thing, so I bought a Laxas Fit. So far, it’s been pretty bad. The app doesn’t integrate with anything! Not with Gym Rats, and not even with Google’s own fitness apps. It also doesn’t have any workout tracking options for weightlifting, only for running-related activities or a few very specific ones like boxing or badminton.

And even when those activities are recorded on the watch, I can’t find them in the app I had to install on my phone to sync with the smartwatch.

So:

Does anyone have suggestions on how to make this work with the Laxas Fit?

If it’s not possible with the Laxas Fit, does anyone have recommendations for a smartwatch and app combo that works well together (preferably not insanely expensive)?

If I’m approaching this the wrong way and smartwatches aren’t the best solution for this, does anyone have general suggestions or tips?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. And if it is, I’d appreciate it if someone could point me to the right sub.
