Recently came across a 1997 Packard Bell monitor via an estate sale, how do I check for damage?

She turns on fine, shows a 'no signal' (im waiting on an adapter so i can plug her into the 2003 laptop i got at the same estate sale to test if she *can* get a signal) theres some light crackling noises when the screen comes on, but nothing major. runs pretty quietly. I got her for roughly 32$ (i haggled) and she was a pain in the ass to carry, but she fits perfectly in my collection. cant hear anything loose on the inside, no indication of being dropped/spilled on/scraped, ect. Missing one pin but thats the only damage.

Anyhow, I know old monitors can become dangerous if theyre internally damaged, and that Packard-Bells are rare because they break easily (not sure if thats true.) Do I need to take her shell off to check for damage? If so, what do I need to look for?
