I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I might be running my first campaign and I wanted to get some tips on how to make a great experience for my players?
I want to paint some of my own models as well so I can help visualize everything as I know it's really roleplay heavy. Any advice is welcome.

I want to host a game because I was always excluded from a bunch of my friends who played DnD and I want to have a really warm environment for other people who might be interested.
I play Dark Souls and Pokemon and I'm very creative and like writing, should I write out a story and base my campaign on that? Or am I overthinking it?
Help please!
