Put simply, I know if my puppy is biting during play, the accepted method is to yelp or perform a similar sound, and cease play for a while.

I guess one of my concerns is, in a nutshell, does this run the risk of teaching my pup that nipping is a surefire, quick, and effective way to be left alone or end play? Is there a good balance that must be struck or is this basically a nonissue?
