Horrible Customer Service
I liked Preply at first.
I had a billing issue. I went to chat with them. First, a bot, of no help, that I had to take 20 minutes to get to a human. The first human had me on hold between answers for 5 minutes. They said they had to check with the team on something and then 20 minutes after that I was transferred to someone else. I kid you not -- 1.5 hours later and I am getting a partial refund for their billing error.
I don't like how they are moving to the subscription only system. I wanted to schedule one off lessons, as my weekly schedule is wonky, but no matter how many times I clicked on a single slot, it brought me to the page to sign up for a subscription (once per week, twice per week, etc). No option to opt out, no button to select one class only. Either exit the page or click the back button and go back to the tutors page.
I deleted my account but luckily have my tutor's contact info and will operate elsewhere. Sheesh.
