Need tips for this drift map on Pro Street

I cannot for my life get to the 2900 points needed to at least secure 1st place, I only can get to 2500 or 2600 with long drift + staying on track bonus. I hope some Pro street connoisseur lurks and see this post lol

Does car tuning do anything in Pro Street?

I've been tinkering with car tuning on Pro Street to see if I can make my Solstice behave better on road circuits. But somehow even If i change stuff to extreme points, I don't feel a significant change at all.

My problem is mostly with the engine and drivetrain parts. As my Solstice was suffering from extreme wheelspin at first, second gear and even third, I've tried to reduce boost and torque power on low rpms, and even making the gears taller. To no avail, it keeps wheelspinning and being uncontrollable on tight circuits.

I also noticed that even the suspension is not that reactive to changes too. During the first wheelie races that I encountered, I had a stage 1 suspension upgrade on my Chevelle, and the thing didn't even lift even with full engine + drivetrain upgrades, and changing the shocks + springs + ARB stuff. Only after upgrading the suspension to stage 3 did I get a full wheelie from the start to the finish line, and without any car tuning changes.

So, with this in mind, can someone tell me if car tuning really works on the game? Or is it just placebo stuff to make the players think they're car experts?

The repetitiveness of events in Underground 1

So i've played UG1 after almost 15 years since the last time I completed it. I didn't remember how repetitive the events were. It's like there are only 10 variations of circuits and sprints, both forward and reverse. By event #50 I started to notice the repetitiveness of the game, and by event #90 I was bored out of my mind, but I wanted to finish the game anyways so I went full auto mode.

UG2 improve the racing aspect of the game a lot, seeing back the changes between the 2 of them. A open, bigger map helps but, I seriously think the devs back then should've made more circuits and sprints with the Olympic City map they created.
