Hi everyone, as promised, here are the first photos of the Alarm Hub Kit.

First impression: this thing is heavy and BIG. The chassis is metal and pretty thick. Honestly, they probably could have saved a few dollars by using thinner sheet metal, especially considering that the wall-mounting system is very basic. So I’m not completely sure what the use case is for such a solid enclosure, although good build quality is always appreciated.

Unfortunately, the terminal block feels like the exact opposite. I spent hours trying to wire each zone properly. I’m not sure if it’s because my wires are very thin, but in the end I had to ask my wife for help, she’s a vascular surgeon, so she’s definitely more used than me to spending hours on very precise work. Even the slightest movement of a wire meant starting over again.

My cable management is honestly terrible at the moment, and I hope to clean it up as soon as I have some time.

2EOL is supported, but from what I can understand in the settings, it seems to work with only one resistor value. In some legacy installations you may have two different resistor values, for example 2.2 kΩ + 4.7 kΩ, so keep that in mind.

Alarm Manager is not the most intuitive interface either. I really hope they improve it significantly in the next releases.
