My Brother-in-law found these two in a rusty can as we’re going through his late father’s storage. I’m curious if they’re worth keeping (I have a small collection and I have couple of extra coin capsules) without cleaning, or if it’s better to sell for merely value considering how bad they look.

Please help with identifying this slab of rock I forgot I had. I don’t remember where this was from. I usually got stuff like this from friends and family, and I don’t remember buying this. So, no idea where it’s from, and I don’t have a reliable hardness test right now.

The front and the chipped areas are shiny which makes me think some kind of obsidian, but the other sides are really dull and powdery looking (doesn’t wipe off with cloth with water). Decent but not too heavy. The only match I’ve found is tiger stripe/ribbon obsidian, but I’m no expert.
