Just finished The Long Walk, and it really is underrated! Questions?

The Long Walk is actually a fantastic book that I have just finished, and it's just awesome! From the script, to the details, to the intensity of themes, to the suspense you get. Then, all you want to do is walk on with the characters, until the End. Although i really wish I knew what Garraty did for Scramm's wife. However, in the movie, McVries wins, and Olson is the one that has a wife; Scramm being entirely deleted from the movie. Any ideas of what could have happened? Was it the thing that was most likely to happen; Garraty/McVries recovering from his hallucinations and doing things for the greater good? I feel like Stephen King WANTS his books to end dark, and not including an epilogue. I guess he likes leaving you in suspense, thinking that he's finishing off the book as a masterpiece of a story. Also, why is The Long Walk considered a short story. Please be welcome to comment, because I will read all of your ideas if I can by the end of the week. Just a hint, also, summer's starting soon!!

Trying to find a Stephen King book club? Reddit? ""Read Description""

Hey everyone, can you please tell me, if you know, a Stephen King book club where people read a number of chapters every week and THEN discuss it. Like, for example, one time I saw, a few months ago, that people were reading one part of IT weekly. I've been getting into his books lately, and would like to discuss them with others. Finished The Long Walk recently and I'm starting on The Running Man and The Life of Chuck. After that, the fourth SK book is IT. Please tell me or send this post to friends who you've heard know about a book club. Thanks!! Have a fantastic day.

I just finished The Long Walk by Stephen King. Any recommendations?

I just finished The Long Walk by SK(I would send a picture of the book, but I already returned it to the library, and it's the movie tie-in version, if you want to look that up. 311 pages. Very tight formatting; very low amount of chapters and lots of words per page.) However, though I like the book and these dystopian kinds of things, it's a little sad and kinda dark. I'm going to read a few more of his books, including The Running Man, which, if you see this , the same day as the post, I will be starting to read it as we speak. Also, I borrowed the Life Of Chuck novella(which is super short, so I know it's not a big deal but I want to watch the movie too). I know these books aren't as good as the newer ones, but I like dystopian books. I want to get into his horror novels? which ones do you recommend? And I was thinking, as my fourth SK book, to start reading IT. I know it has its weird stuff, BUT I will try to take the good out of it, right? Or should I start a shorter horror novel like Carrie or Pet Sematary. I mean, if I already like The Long Walk and The Running Man(plus I watched the movies), plus The Life of Chuck, (very sophisticated), don't you think IT is good? I watched part 1, but saved part 2 until after I'm done finishing the book(if I read it). If I do not read it, then I'll just finish off the second part movie, in short. Welcome for recommendations even if they are like SK's books. Thanks!!
