All the Things I Made for my Wedding

We finally had our super DIY wedding in May! Here's everything I handmade or customised, it was a non-stop year of crafts and I loved it (although the creative burnout afterwards has hit HARD) I feel like I made more than was pictured here, not pictured was things like accessories and thank you gifts I made for my bridesmaids, and the archway and photo booth we made from garden arches.

Our £7.8k 95 Guest DIY Wedding in Glasgow 16/05/26

My year-long craft project wedding is finally over! Everything went pretty prefectly (although don't recommend co-ordinating yourself, very grateful for our bridesmaids. groomsmen and family!)

Almost everything wedding related was handmade. All artwork and graphic design done by me and my husband. Flowers, centrepieces, mine and bridesmaid's accessories, buttonholes, cake, cake toppers, photobooth, favours, huge tassel garland, confetti, my cape, rings, quaich, handfasting chord, even the tablecloths were handmade by me, my bridesmaids and my parents!

We were adamant we wouldn't spend vast sums of money on one day. I'd hoped to keep it under £5k, but even materials for DIY-ing stuff gets expensive. But I wanted a huge craft project so it was a labour of love. Biggest expense was our photographer and the food (photographer and car were a gift from my parents) and our biggest money-saver was the venue, a Victorian lawn bowls club round the corner from our house, which cost us £200 to rent for the day. This freed up a lot of money for other things!

Buffet was an excellent cold buffet from a local supplier, followed by midnight snack pizza from a local pizza supplier who happens to be a friend of my husband. We had so much food left we were eating it for weeks. I read r/weddingshaming too much and fretted over there not being enough food so over-ordered.

We decided no to have a DJ, a lot of my husband's friends are DJ's but we wanted to everyone to be able to relax and have fun, so we opted for a Spotify playlist.
