Too Many Mixed Reviews on PGs and Flats. I Need Real Advice.

P. S. The photo is completely unrelated to this post.

I’m joining Jain University for BCA soon, and I’m trying to decide between staying in a PG or renting a shared flat.

The more I research, the more confused I get. Some people say PGs aren’t worth the rent because of the food, restrictions, privacy issues, and overcrowding. Others say flats come with their own headaches—finding good roommates, managing bills, cooking, maintenance, and unexpected expenses.

I’m also looking forward to connecting with fellow students, especially those from the BCA branch, so I’d like to know if one option makes that easier than the other.

A few questions:

* If you had to choose again, would you pick a PG or a shared flat? Why?

* Is a shared flat actually cheaper once you include all the hidden costs?

* How hard is it to find trustworthy roommates?

* What are some problems with flats that people usually don’t mention?

* Are there any PGs near Jain University that are genuinely worth considering?

* If you were in my position, what would you choose and why?

I’d really appreciate honest experiences instead of promotional recommendations.

I'm currently looking for:

- A good PG near the Jayanagar campus

- Clean rooms, decent food, Wi-Fi, and good security

- Honest recommendations, including places to avoid
