Does this sound like crohns or EoE?
My 13 year old son was just diagnosed with EoE. He had a scope and colonoscopy because he has been having “episodes” of severe stomach pain (right about belly button) severe diarrhea (8-12 times per day during an episode and occasionally vomiting. These “episodes” come on sudden, usually in the middle of the night and last anywhere from several hours to 24-48 hours and then he is back to normal. This has been going on for 18 months. Sometimes he will have them a few times a week and then sometimes it’s only a few a month.
He had a ct scan that showed inflammation in the terminal ileum and calprotectin level of over 400. His colonoscopy and biopsies were normal a month later but he was not having any pain at the time, but they did find the EoE.
Some days he also has to go to the bathroom 5 plus times in a day while other days it’s normal.
Just trying to see if these could be symptoms of EoE or if it could be crohns even though colonoscopy is normal.
