DC Move / Apartments
Hey everyone, would really appreciate some advice here. I’m a 25 year old female working professional ( I’ve been in the workforce for about 1.5 years) Right now I live in Baltimore because I work near BWI airport, and I commute by car every day. Honestly, I haven’t really enjoyed living in Baltimore. I’ve always wanted to be in DC , it feels like there’s so much more to do.. My lease is up in 2 months, so I’m starting to plan my next move. I’m pretty set on leaving Baltimore.. hoping to move to DC, but I’m trying to figure out what make the most sense. I’ve been looking at areas like Navy Yard and Adams Morgan, and I keep hearing about NoMa too, although I’m not sure if it’s my vibe
For context:
-I currently pay about $2,000 for a 1-bedroom in a nice building in Baltimore
-I’d like to stay around $2,100 max if possible
I do have a car and I’m open to taking the MARC but I think sometimes I’ll still be commuting to the BWI area for work
Does anyone have recommendations on:
neighborhoods that would fit what I’m looking for? the best way to apartment hunt in DC without getting destroyed on rent? Whether Navy Yard, Adams Morgan, NoMa, or somewhere else would make the most sense?
Would love any advice/tips from people living in the city. Thanks :)
