Pro cyclers please be patient with the newbies

I’m new to the cycling scene in Seattle. Just got myself a new bike to further be part of the culture of the city.

I’m finding though that the more experienced cyclers are a bit more aggressive than I anticipated on bike trails. I was on Burke-Gilman today and from the stretch between UW to Gasworks I found the path today to be really crowded with pedestrians and cyclists as anticipated with the nicer weather. But some cyclists were not having it. I felt like I would be pushed off by some if they could. But with the crowd of the walker/runners in all directions it’s hard to be cautious and bike at higher speeds.

My ask to the more experienced cyclists: Be patient with us newbies. Yelling at me even though I’m as far right as I can be is not helping with my confidence building.
