We just started a channel called Gone & Alive, where Riley (our fictional twenty-something) keeps ending up in conversations with people from history.

This is Episode 2:
Riley talks to Dostoevsky about the mock execution, Siberia, Brothers Karamazov, and what his writings offer to someone living now. We tried our best to get this right. The biographical facts are checked and the positions he takes are drawn from his writing and letters (with the help of AI).

The whole thing made us start to read Crime & Punishment again :-) and we'd genuinely like to know from people like you, who might know his work better than us, or just started to dive into it:
