MCAT Advice - Continuing to score in the 490's
Please help since I am quite frustrated where I am at in the process of studying for the MCAT and need insight from anyone who has found themselves in my shoes.
I honestly feel stuck. I have been scoring within the 490s the last two months and thought would be breaking into the 500's by now yet dropped back to 489 on AAMC FL3 so had to push out my June 12 test date which honestly I am quite upset about. I had been taking a FL every Friday. With FLE 1-3 through Altius. Here are my scores:
FLE 1 121 121 122 125 489
FLE 2 124 124 125 126 499
FLE 3 123 124 123 125 495
AAMC 1 127 121 124 126 498
AAMC 2 122 123 123 122 490
AAMC 3 123 122 122 122 489
I notice I struggle with timing across all sections. I feel frustrated with my PSS since I seem to go down 2-3 points each time from Altius to AAMC. While my CARS has been around 122-124. I'd love to score 126+. CP and BIO are just honestly frustrating since my background was not in the sciences so it has been quite the learning curve. I'd love to test in late July or August with a test date in Early September.
Some background first time I took the MCAT in August of 2025 I got a 486 yet I was having panic attacks while taking it and wanted to void it but had already applied to schools.
Next I would love to apply this cycle to both MD/DO's but it is looking like that might not happen.
My stats are cumulative GPA of 3.74 and ssGPA around 3.4. I am also a nontraditional with thousands of clinical hours.
Anyway any advice would be helpful for reaching my goal of 505+ by sometime this summer.
