This is Dolly Barkon. I adopted her from the shelter I worked at within my first week. She’s a year and 9 months and had been at the shelter since she was 4 weeks old. She had been adopted and returned four times for being too “clingy” and for having separation anxiety. I was there the day she was brought back and I had the privilege of taking her to the pavilion to decompress before putting her in her kennel. I spent some time with her in the pavilion and I had this moment of “no more”. I fell in love with her and decided then and there that she would never have to sit longer than she needed to in that kennel without a home where she would be loved just as she is. My bf and I had just lost a baby and had been wanting to get a dog to care for and she was the perfect match. Two days after that, she rode home with me after work. She fell asleep with her head on my center console and it’s like she knew she was finally going home. Now she gets to flourish and her personality has really come out. She’s absolutely beautiful and amazing and has been exactly what we’ve wanted and needed. We love you, Dolly! 💕
