Beginner road bike recommendations
Would really appreciate some advice on what bike to get as I am an absolute beginner! Recently moved from Australia and have become very into cycling since my move four months ago! I go through a 400 minute Lime pass in about a week thanks to commuting to and from work each day and cycling to and from southwest to east London each weekend to see friends. I'm very keen to move to a non-electric bike and start doing longer rides but I'm overwhelmed by the different types of bikes and brands and prices.
I know I definitely don't want a fixed gear bike, but beyond that I'm very open to any recommendations. As I'm just getting into it and my current financial situation, my budget is on the lower end. Would £200 be enough to buy me something reasonable on Facebook Marketplace? If that's too low please also let me know, but then again I am very happy to start off with something that's not flashy and save up for something a bit better in a couple of months, I'm just really keen to start peddling! Any other tips about cycling in London are also welcome!
