150 Classes Later, I’m So Glad I Tried Club Pilates!

The Club Pilates in my town officially opened one year ago this week, and I’m proud to say I was a founding member and joined in March 2025 before they even officially opened.

Honestly, I fully expected to cancel within the first month, or at least downgrade from 8 classes per month to 4. Instead, I upgraded to unlimited during my first week and just hit my 150th class this past Monday.

Yes, Pilates has reshaped my body and helped me lose a significant amount of weight, but what surprised me most is what it did for my physical pain and mobility.

I no longer deal with:

🙅‍♀️chronic plantar fasciitis
🙅‍♀️lower back pain
🙅‍♀️sciatica
🙅‍♀️knee pain
🙅‍♀️fear of stairs
🙅‍♀️low energy

I also struggle with social anxiety and depression, so there are definitely days where I still have to give myself a pep talk just to leave the house and go to class. But the support and community I found at my studio have honestly become one of the biggest reasons I keep showing up.

I truly thought Pilates “wasn’t for people like me,” and I could not have been more wrong.

For anyone considering trying Pilates or Club Pilates for the first time: this is your sign to try it.

80+ lbs down and counting

These before photos were taken in early 2024, about six months before I started my tirzepatide journey in September 2024, so I can’t be 100% sure what I weighed here — but my highest weight was 290 pounds. Today, I’m just under 210 pounds, and I truly feel like I have my life back.

I’m no longer out of breath all the time. I have the stamina to do Pilates and HIIT workouts, I can take the stairs without fear, and the constant aches and pains I used to live with are gone.

This medication has genuinely been life-changing for me, and I’m so grateful that I advocated for myself, changed insurance plans, and found a non-surgical weight loss doctor who actually supported my goals instead of dismissing them.

I know these medications can be controversial to some people, but for me, this has been about improving my health, mobility, confidence, and quality of life — and I’m incredibly thankful for that. ❤️
