My supervisor seems to have become quite enraged by the fact that the yarn ball is moving; before anyone worries about her eating the fibers, I took the yarn away immediately after this photo and gave her a plushie to murder instead (quite literally.. she's dangling from it's neck at the moment)

Was intending on making this into a hanging basket but it isn't holding up as I assumed it would, contemplating making this into a cat hammock now once I figure out how to keep their paws from getting through the gaps; my supervisor, noodle, became rather murderous after I made her test how much weight it could handle.
