House price reduced after signing contract
Hey everyone, looking for some advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
We bought a new-build and have already signed the contract. Our house is around 110 sq m.
The frustrating part is that the developer has now reduced the price of some of the other houses. Some of these are 123–132 sq m and are now around the same price as what we paid for our smaller house.
Because we’ve already signed the contract, we’re obviously tied in and can’t just go and buy one of the other houses. We asked the developer if we could switch, but they’ve said no.
I’m just wondering what our options are here. Has anyone been in a similar situation where the developer reduced prices after you signed?
Is it worth trying to negotiate some sort of compensation, upgrade, extras, or price adjustment? Or is there realistically nothing we can do once the contract is signed?
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who’s dealt with this before!
