One Craft, Different Needs

I respect everyone’s opinions, but it’s concerning when people underestimate what carriers actually go through daily, whether you’re an RCA, PTF, CCA or any other craft. If you haven’t been in the craft for years, it’s easy to lose touch with reality. That’s why management should be required to work the route at least once a year to stay grounded. At the end of the day, it comes down to transparency and understanding, both within the craft and to the public, across large, medium, and small offices alike, because every station has different needs. Just my two cents.

The Post Office Crisis Nobody’s Talking About

We’re talking about USPS potentially running out of cash by early 2027. That’s not a distant problem, that hits carriers, clerks, and anyone in a rural area who depends on their mail showing up.
I know USPS isn’t perfect but walking away from it or letting it collapse isn’t the answer either. There’s real potential here that honestly no private carrier can touch.
The next couple of years are going to be critical. This thing could go a lot of different ways.
If you’ve seen any recent coverage on where things are headed — for workers, operations, the whole picture — drop it below. Would genuinely love to see more people talking about the USPS as a public institution and service. Appreciations to all our Veterans and Lite Blue rockstars!

Pilot program for package delivery photos

The MDD-TR scanners are a perfect example of technology improving accountability and customer experience. Definitely cuts down on ‘where’s my package’ calls…
What have been pros and cons to the pilot in your regions?

The CCA Reality: Commodity or Career? Thoughts?

Nothing illustrates this crisis of confidence more than the state of the CCA position. The message received daily is painfully clear — your labor is valuable but your future is not guaranteed. The CCA classification was sold as a pathway, but for too many it has become a holding pattern with no horizon. No job stability, no sense of permanence, treated more like a commodity than a skilled professional.
When your union and your employer both struggle to give you a clear answer about your own future, what does that say about the state of the craft?

City carrier hold mail insight

There is a significant disconnect between local management's "stand-up talks" and the actual deployment status of the MDD-TR Hold Mail feature. While the April 2026 Postal Record clarifies this is a restricted pilot, local stations are presenting information that suggests a broader rollout or different operational requirements. I am seeking a definitive statement on Regional vs National participation to eliminate the "I don’t know" responses currently. If anyone has any insight would be greatly appreciated.
